KNEX STEM Explorations Gears Building Set Review

The set includes 140 parts for a single child or team of two children to build three unique geared models: a crank fan, a car window, and an egg beater. It is made from sturdy plastic material that is very durable.

The set comes with an experiment guide that is aligned with National STEM standards and is appropriate for grade levels 3 5. This guide provides students with the opportunity to learn about gear configurations, gear ratios, rotational speed, mechanical advantage, and more! I find this aspect of the product especially useful as it encourages students to explore their creativity while developing their STEM skills.

The set also comes with detailed instructions which make assembly of the models easy and straightforward. I found that I was able to assemble the models quickly and easily without any issues. The pieces fit together perfectly and the instruction manual makes it easy to understand how each part needs to be connected for an optimal result.
